The members of an elite firefighting crew who died in Arizona Sunday were overtaken by a fast-moving fire that was thought to be sparked by lightning, as triple-digit temperatures have gripped the US West. Eighteen members of the crew were killed, and another person died who has yet to be identified, said Mike Reichling, Arizona State Forestry Division spokesman, on Monday.
